BLS (Basic Life Support)

The BLS course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. 1 and 2 rescuer CPR for adults, children and infants. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years.

First Aid / CPR /AED

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is geared towards anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years.

Bloodborne Pathogens

The Bloodborne Pathogens course teaches students how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training.

  • Workers who may regularly encounter blood

Basic TB Course

The Basic TB Course is designed for healthcare workers to administer, read and record Mantoux tuberculin tests. Students can complete the ISDH IN-TRAIN online course on their own or during this class. Students must must complete the skills check-off portion as well to receive their 3 year certification.

Medication Administration and Safe Handling

The Medication Administration and Safe Handling Class is learning the basic skills of passing medications. During training the student will learn the different route for medications and the importance of side effects and how to document medications. The class also goes over the safe ways to transport the person in your care safely and securely.

Dog First Aid & CPR

In the Dog First Aid & CPR course, you will learn the basics in caring for dogs through a variety of topics – from understanding and checking your dog's vital signs, to preventative care, to caring for the most critical emergency situations - including breathing and cardiac emergencies, wounds, bleeding, and seizures.
